WC3L Qualifier Round 4

Round four of the WC3L qualifier gets underway today with two of the top contenders, Gravitas and PGS, going head to head in the upper round quarter finals.

Gravitas were able to overcome their opponent Hoorai in the previous round who, during last seasons qualifiers, eliminated them from the upper bracket. Should they win this weeks match, Gravitas could go on to face Mortal Team Work who, during last seasons qualifiers, knocked them out of the competition altogether.

This qualifier is a veritable minefield of ghosts for Gravitas, but it should serve as an adequate gauge of how much the team has improved these past few months.

PGS meanwhile have rationed their resources well, picking up some top notch talent while cutting loose some of the dead weight, we may even see them pick up yet another budding star in light of WICKED’s recent pink slip firing spree.

Can PGS possibly resist picking up one of very few Polish players with potential?

ShrieK is now back in action and has been for a while. He’s done quite well for his team in the current NGL season, the team as a whole hasn’t been performing well at all, but ShrieK has managed to score a handful of points at least.

With the human combo of ShrieK and DeMusliM, the night elf trio of Satiini, D.C & Paladyn and now orc support from KnOfF the team have a well balanced roster, although admittedly they could do with a good undead player in there somewhere… PGS.TeRRoR has a nice ring to it, don’t you think?

Moving on.

Team EnVy will be taking on RAPTOR-GAMING this week in a lower bracket fight for survival. The winner advances to the next round while the loser descends to the stage below the loser bracket, I believe it’s a pit full of sharpened bamboo sticks.
EnVy has been performing surprisingly well during the qualifier, granted they’re now in the lower brackets but they single handedly eliminated two of the three Chinese participants, impressive no?

Unfortunately this could be the end of EnVy as RAPTOR have a pretty solid line-up with some top notch amateur talent, two of whom are currently competing in the German Pro Series playoffs alongside Miou and XlorD.

Either way the fans are starting to rally around their teams, this is shaping up to be one exciting game. Thursday night’s alright for fighting!
