NGL ONE 2008 Playday 9
The ninth and final play day of the NGL ONE regular season kicks off today with a match between recent WC3L finalists Mousesports and a new and improved PGS line-up.
Mousesports have this one in the bag. Regardless of their result against PGS, Mousesports can’t mathematically drop below fourth place in the ranks meaning they’re safe for this week. Theoretically they could be overtaken by either SK, MYM or WICKED, but only two of the three would be able to do so giving them a bit of breathing room this week.
Conversely the match between WICKED eSports and MeetYourMakers will be a battle of blood, sweat and tears to see which team will earn a spot at the finals and which will have to watch from home.
SK, MYM and WICKED are all currently tied with five wins and three losses making a win this week imperative to championship success. Given the large skill gap between the two we can safely assume SK Gaming is going to defeat their final opponent Delta, leaving MYM and WICKED tied for fourth.
So the final match between WICKED and MYM will quite literally be a fight for survival, the winner will advance to the final while the loser will be forced to watch from home.
MeetYourMakers are the current title holders and will surely be anxious to defend their title, WICKED meanwhile have recently lost their corporate backing meaning they too will be anxious to prove what they can do and hopefully showcase their abilities at a high stakes event. A win at the NGL ONE finals would surely benefit any sponsor pitch.
