Blizzard have officially published the brackets for the 2008 Blizzard Worldwide Invitational Warcraft III event, after having to be changed in light of Wei Liang “Fly100%” Lu’s inability to attend.
The event is scheduled to take place between June 28th & 29th at the Porte de Versailles Exposition Center in Paris, France. With Fly100% dropping out just days before the event Blizzard were fortunate to find a player who could travel on such short notice, as was reported yesterday, Daniel “XlorD” Spenst has accepted an invitation to compete in Lu’s place.
The tournament is fast becoming one of the most anticipated of the year given the small, yet talented pool of players in attendance.
The event will be played best of 3 with double elimination brackets, but even still, with so much experience and talent packed into an eight player event, there are sure to be some upsets.
The first round matches are:
June “Lyn” Park vs. Jae Ho “Moon” Jang Xiaofeng “Sky” Li vs. Manuel “Grubby” Schenkhuizen Dae Hui “FoV” Cho vs. Kim “SaSe” Hammar Daniel “XlorD” Spenst vs. Yoan “ToD” Merlo
