Dignitas\Mick: mp_backlot Stripped
Call of Duty 4 was released with a plethora of maps, each an enigma in itself, laced with the intricate design that we have come to expect from our next generation games. All in all there are six competitive maps. Some players might perceive this as being just one too many to master. I hope to shed light on as many strategic options as possible, highlighting the variables and helping some of you overcome your bewilderment.
Overview
The yellow marker on the map indicates where you will spawn as an attacker. The objective is to plant the explosives in either the A or B bombsite. The green marker indicates where you will spawn while playing defence. This time the objective is to defend the two bombsites by either defusing the bomb whilst planted, or killing all five enemies prior to a bomb plant.
The A bombsite is marked on the overview and is located in a construction building consisting of three floors, the basement, the ground floor and the first floor. The basement is rarely used but is a potential gateway to those who might devise a way to use it successfully.
The ground floor is one of the available bombsites however, should you choose this bombsite you better know how to play it. Team work and proper cover is essential here, the area is not only open to enemies in the middle and upper B section of the map, but also from the construction site, which tends to house two or three players in and around the bombsite.
The B bombsite is marked on the map overview, located in the outside area under a small hut with the dilapidated B building on one side and the gas house on the other. The decrepit house is often used by players to gain a higher vantage point while attacking the bombsite, but can also be used by the defensive side to press the offence, scoring early picks or staying put and controlling the area.
Moving into the center area of the map we find the garage, which has two floors plus a roof area to make use of. There’s also an outpost building and a storage complex that links between the defenders spawn and the center of the map.
